The first Morris Ten was introduced for the 1933 season in October 1932. A year later the introduction of a six cylinder version in a longer wheelbase caused the name to be changed to the Ten-Four and the Ten-Six. These first upright models were replaced by the Series II in 1935 which had a streamlined back although the mechanical components remained very much the same.
The Series III in 1938 saw the introduction of the overhead valve engine which was carried throught to the last of the line the Series M. The Series M had a smaller capacity engine but its shorter stroke meant that it could rev higher and produce more power.

This first post war Minors used the Eight Series E engine indetuned form although it offered superior handling. The amalgamation with Austin provided the A series engine, which in its original 803cc form offeredlittle more performance but went on to be the basis of the Mini engine and the outstanding Cooper S 1275cc derivatives.
